動詞片語(Verb Phrase)和片語動詞(Phrasal Verb)

動詞片語

【觀念確認】由本動詞和其他詞類所組成的片語。

(1)

助動詞+本動詞：包括"未來式"，"進行式"，"被動式"，"完成式"及否定句...

I will work as hard as my father.(未來式)

All the people have to be honest.(未來式)

A little boy is crying over there.(現在進行式)

Students were listening to the teacher then.(過去進行式)

English is spoken in America.(現在被動式)

Pragya-English-Paramita was written by English Chen.(過去被動式)

I have lived here for thirty years.(現在完成式)

I had been in America two years.(過去完成式)

I don't cheat.(現在式否定句)

He didn't say anything.(過去式否定句)

不及物動詞+介繫詞：有些"不及物動詞"不加介繫詞就無法產生語意。

Wise people look for the purpose of the life.

The eight-year-old girl looks after her brother even younger .

I always look up a new word in the dictionary.

I, your friend, stand on you all the way.

You can't stand for all of us.

Take off your hat, please.

The plane is taking off.

Remember to turn off the light.

不及物動詞+副詞+(介繫詞)：有些"不及物動詞"加上副詞而產生不同語意，有些並且需要介繫詞以連繫前後語意。

I look up to honest people, not rich ones.

I look forward to your coming.

He gets along with the elderly easily.

Slow down, I can't catch up with you.

I come up with a good idea to study English well.

A good idea just came across (my mind).

Be it good or bad, the party goes ahead.

If you have time, just come over.

片語動詞

【觀念確認】由動詞和其他詞類所組成的片語，卻具有本動詞的意味。

(1)

及物動詞和其受詞合併其後的介詞,產生有別於本動詞的語意。

Not all the parents take care of their children.

Many people took part in the book fair.

Some of the next generation of the rich make fun of the poor.

Would you keep an eye on my luggage?

May I take a look at this diamond?

Not all the parents take care of their children.---並非所有父母都照顧孩子

本句結構：

主詞是all the parents ，本動詞其實是take(採用) ，care of their children才是整句的受詞，然而讀者通常將整個take care of 視為"照顧"，因此把take care of 三個字(片語)，當作一個"動詞"看待，所以稱之為"片語動詞"。

be動詞及其補語合併其後的介詞,產生類似本動詞的語意。

The accident is nothing to do with me.

His parent is proud of his grades.

This book is worthy of reading.

Many people are interested in novels.

What I think is different from yours.

Most of the students are anxious about the test.

Mr. Chen is good at English.

I am quite used to the life in America.

Mr. Chen is good at English.---陳先生精通英文

本句結構：

主詞是Mr. Chen，本動詞其實是is ，good是本句的"主詞補語"，介詞片語at English 是修飾good的副詞---(陳先生在英文方面是好的)

然而讀者通常將整個be good at 視為"精通於..."，因此把be good at 三個字(片語)，當作一個"動詞"看待，所以稱之為"片語動詞"。
